Windows 10 Install stuck on Windows logo - Microsoft Community - Question Info
With that said, I recently had a power outage during a Windows 10 update and my system became unbootable, I couldn't repair it or anything. I booted into my Fedora 31 drive and used the Gnome Disk utility and formated the Windows drive. I plugged it in booted to the USB and it gets stuck at the Windows logo without the spinning dots.
Since then I've unplugged everything, and tried to boot with different configurations of hardware leaving my Linux Hard Drive unplugged so it couldn't be overwritten or anything.

I've burned two more fresh DVDs and none of them boot far enough to get a Command Prompt up to do any of the more advanced steps. But my Fedora 31 install DVD works just fine and reads the drive and is even ready to install. Gateway never released an official BIOS update for my motherboard.
All the drivers were installed fresh from the manufacturers website. I have no idea if its expected to stop working as the upgrade assistant gives everything a green tick. I'm trying to do a clean install of the Windows 8 Enterprise day evaluation and I get as far the Windows logo after the first re-boot, and it just hangs there with the spinning dots.
The main OS on the disk is Windows 7 and previously I had installed the Consumer Preview version of Windows 8 in a new partition, to dual boot with Windows 7 and that installed, and ran perfectly. I deleted the Preview partition, and then selected that free space as the target for the install.
The first part, up to the re-boot appears to go OK, but after the reboot, I only get as far as the windows logo and no further, despite leaving it running for over an hour. After re-booting back into Windows 7, I can see the partition and checking the timestamps, they are all around the time of the initial build and reboot.
I've even tried installing windows 7 first via cd rom so I could then update to windows 10, but when I load the win 7 cd, it gets stuck on the primary installation setup screen where it asks to select a language and such. I'm beginning to think it's the power supply at fault, since on both a usb and cd, it gets frozen at a certain point prior to installation, but I'm not sure. What could it be?
